1. We Don't Need To Say Goodbye

Funny how familiar
All this seems to be
It can't have been five years before the time that I decided we should split apart
Coloured dressings
On the bedroom floor
Another reminder that we never said goodbye, although our faces said it more

Are you watching me?
I can but try
We don't need to say goodbye

Guessing games with
All the missing signs
I doubt it's fun to have another broken heart brought up to settle on your mind
Feel the difference
Sure, you find it hard
If you wanted half an easy life, you could've asked, I don't think you'd get far

Are you watching me?
I can but try
We don't need to say goodbye

I did promise
All that you've prepared
I left a letter on the pillow, left a number but no tone was ever there
Follow me backwards
Counting all the years
Now we're back to where we were again, the story runs it's course away from here

Are you watching me?
I can but try
We don't need to say goodbye
Are you watching me?
Are you watching me?
We don't need to say goodbye

2. Can't Stay Sitting Still

So we thunder on
A thousand horses pulling me back home
We're always catching up
The years we've fought apart have felt so long
But see that I can wait
Oh yeah I'll wait till kingdom come
Eyes burned out by the sun

Through summer holidays
Through seasons I can't chase or find a place
To put within my time
A drink to once forget could clear my mind
And cast it all to hear
You fear there's nothing left undone
There is no need to run

But don't call, I'm calm
Don't shout, I'm still
I'm still burning through this journey from the coast into the hills
Don't call, I'm calm
Don't shout, I'm still
I'm still fighting fires, still fighting for a meaning I can fill
Can't stay sitting still

Where to go from here?
We've travelled every corner, every sphere
And I can't contemplate
This place to be the home for my mistakes
I need to know right now
I need to know where I'm gone
Where is there left to run?

But don't call, I'm calm
Don't shout, I'm still
I'm still burning through this journey from the coast into the hills
Don't call, I'm calm
Don't shout, I'm still
I'm still fighting fires, still fighting for a meaning I can fill
Can't stay sitting still
Can't keep time to kill
Can't stay sitting still
Can't keep time to kill...

3. Each Question

You wake up, a storm inside your head
Where the ancient memories of your death
are colliding with the dreams you just had
and it's always too late to turn back
So you break off a section of the sky
to focus on to recount your life
and it always fails but feels nice
(it feels nice) to be wrong but someday be right
(you'll be alright)

In a month you'll hardly complain
It's a custom that there's someone to blame
So forget all that has come before
The past is so brittle but so sure

So break another piece off the sky
There's no point to relive your life
Just a moment where you should realise
You'll figure it out and you'll die
But I can't believe that it's true
Because I've figured it out and it's you
It's you

I'm staring at the sky like before
Each question brings along hundreds more
You'll never get anywhere like that
But then again, who else is going to ask?

4. A Hundred Times

A hundred times I've called you out
A hundred times you can't be found
Is this a sign of things to come?
Or just a sign of what's been done

Pull the covers round your eyes
Here's the place where you can hideout now

A hundred clouds are bursting out
A hundred minds collecting doubt
You'll never be so lucky now
You're old enough to work things out

Where's the summer meant to go
If we waste the time alone
Kicking rocks off down the slopes
A rolling stone won't bring you hope

But I hope, if you could let me know
If you could only let me know
If you could let me know

A hundred times you come to me
A hundred false apologies
A hundred years I'll have to wait
But every time will be too late
I never really asked for much
First your smile and then your touch
So if we ever meet again
Will I be fooled it's not the end

A hundred times I've left my home
A hundred miles I might've roamed
Caught singing out in empty streets
This never seemed to bother me

But all the words get thrown about
Take the worst and pass it round
Leave the town to figure out
Just what you've lost and what you've found

Then oh, if you could let me know
If you could let me know

5. For Our Dreaming

I meet you down by the market stalls
Nothing's open but we still linger
Against the barren walls of the college hall
Drinking bourbon spiked with water

Talk of who we want to be right now
Or sometimes who we want to be with
You call out legends so I laugh out loud
And then get chased off by your counter

Will we ever stop this dreaming?
Is it healthy or just defeating
I know I'm reaching high but I know what I see through my eyes
Are we that hungry for a meaning...

Meet the others in the same old hole
Start falling out until we fall back in to
Conversations of our blackened souls
Drink some more until the bell rings

Thinking clearer now it's time
You've got your dreams, I've got mine
I know I'm reaching high but I know what I see through my eyes
Are we that hungry for a meaning
That we are living for our dreaming

Forget it in the morning
Your time is short
Just take it as a warning
That time is short
So later when you dream alone
Are we that hungry for a meaning?
That we are living for our dreaming
Are we living for our dreaming
Are we living for our dreaming...

6. Fresh Panic

When he lets the fire fall at his feet
He knows, no mercy lies in the hands of defeat
So he tries, he tries to combat the fear with a knowing smile
About the world that he's just left behind

She leaves early so the moon doesn't greet her way home
Because she's told it's never safe on the streets
But then oh, who's to say when or where all the strange ones go
If you're not careful it could be someone you know

Calm down, calm down
There's a fresh panic set upon this town
There's a certain possibility
That something, that something lurks outside
So go lock yourselves away up and hide!

So he's saved by the hands of a dead comrade
Underneath the pier he lies in the darkened shade
What becomes of him now, oh well who's to say
Will he ever leave this place one day

She comes home to an empty house, oh dear
Turn the lights on to dispel all the darkened fears
Turn them off so the shadows don't notice the room
Who's to say it couldn't happen to you

Calm down, calm down
There's a fresh panic set upon this town
There's a certain possibility
That something, that something lurks outside
So go lock yourselves away up and hide!

7. Trouble Hunters

We could, catch fire,
We could, ride higher, or we could die.
We won't, take care, so don't stop, stare
When things conspire
And we'll tumble blindly on towards
Another loaded, croaking, smoking, gun
And fiddle with your fears and never blink
Between our ears, we know its... fun

Because oh, what could be worse
Than digging up dry earth
Than our scuffles in the dirt
Another muttered curse
A muffled cry out...

Come join our hunt for trouble
Come join our hunt for trouble

We'll walk down the hill to reach the park,
The people know that after dark,
We'll fumble round the grassy fields,
Breaking lights to keep concealed
We'll keep it quiet, we'll keep it down
There's listeners all over town
But even then, what's left to lose?
They've never really had a clue
We're not required to make a stand
Because you know we haven't had the chance
To just fade away over the years
You'll never have to shed a tear
Cause we've always had a way with time
To make it last in your decline
Come join us when we start again
Next evening's just around the bend

Because oh, what could be worse
Than digging up dry earth
Than our scuffles in the dirt
Another muttered curse
A muffled cry out...

Come join our hunt for trouble
Come join our hunt for trouble
